Dossier EXIF / GPS

No file selected. Drop a photo to inspect EXIF, IPTC, and GPS fields.

How to verify no upload
  1. Open DevTools → Network.
  2. Drop a photo and strip metadata.
  3. Confirm no POST of your file — only static assets load.

Parsing and canvas re-encode run entirely on your device.

How it works

MetaStrip is an evidence desk: preview on the left with stamp overlays when GPS is present; a dossier table on the right lists EXIF keys in monospace. Strip all re-encodes via canvas so EXIF/IPTC/XMP are gone.

Strip GPS uses a JPEG EXIF rewrite when possible; otherwise use Strip all. Free forever — no account, no Pro, no ads.

FAQ

Do my photos leave my device?

No. EXIF reading and stripping run in your browser. We do not upload your files for processing.

Does Strip all reduce quality?

JPEG is re-encoded (default quality ~0.92). PNG/WebP stay lossless where the browser allows. The honest tradeoff: clean metadata vs original bytes.

Can I strip GPS only?

For many JPEGs, yes — MetaStrip rewrites EXIF without the GPS IFD. If that fails, use Strip all (canvas) which removes every metadata block.

What about HEIC?

Browsers often cannot decode HEIC here. Convert with HeicLocal first, then strip on MetaStrip.
